Tommy Byrne elected Offaly County Board Chairman

Gracefield's Tommy Byrne was elected as Offaly County Board Chairman to succeed Padraig Boland at the Offaly GAA Convention on Tuesday night.

He was elected on the first count with 80 votes ahead of Fergal McKeown with 27 and Joe Higgins with 24.

The other officers for the coming year are Vice Chairperson Joe Higgins, Secretary Eamonn Cusack, Assistant Secretary Mary Dunne, Treasurer Jimmy Hogan, Assistant Treasurer Martin Boland, Cultural Officer Damien Martin, Development Officer James Murphy and Coaching Officer/Children's Officer Dolores Slevin. There remains a vacancy for PRO.

Pat Teehan is the Central Council Delegate with Joe O'Brien and Laz Molloy the Leinster Council Delegates.

Delegates to Congress are the Chairperson, Secretary, Joe O'Brien and Ollie Daly while the delegates to the Leinster Convention are Chairperson, Secretary, Eamonn Flynn and James Murphy.
