Drumcullen complete the hat-trick

DESPITE conceding two goal early in the first-half and a third within seconds of the start of the second, Drumcullen managed to fightback to overcome Shinrone to claim a hat-trick of Senior Camogie titles.

DESPITE conceding two goal early in the first-half and a third within seconds of the start of the second, Drumcullen managed to fightback to overcome Shinrone to claim a hat-trick of Senior Camogie titles.

In the end Drumcullen’s ability to keep the scoreboard ticking over throughout the game was key as they amassed a total of 16 scores, twice as many as Shinrone over the hour.

Despite that this hugely entertaining game was right in the balance up to the very end and there were heart-stopping moments for both sets of supporters in the large crowd in St Brendan’s Park in the final seconds as Shinrone pushed for what would have been a championship winning goal but Drumcullen held out and the celebrations started when referee Declan Cooke blew the full-time whistle.
