St Rynagh’s and Offaly star Mairead Daly was chosen as the Junior Ladies Footballer of the Year at the Ladies Football All Stars in the City West Hotel last Saturday.

The 17-year-old had an outstanding year for Offaly culminating in a two goal performance as Offaly claimed the TG4 All Ireland Junior Ladies Football title in Croke Park in September.

The pacey corner-forward held off the challenge of her county team-mate Lorraine Keena, who was also nominated for a Camogie All Star, to claim the top honour.

It was the latest in a line of awards this year for Mairead Daly who was part of the Offaly team who also won the NFL Division 4 Title and a Leinster Title 2013 where she received player of the match award in the final. She was also chosen as Player of the Game in the All Ireland Final. Mairead was alsoselected for the Division 4 Team of the League.

The dual star already had an incredible haul of titles to her name before the hat-trick of wins with Offaly this year including an All-Ireland Feile, county medals at all grades including three U-16 and four Minors, two Senior Club title, one Schools Camogie title, two Junior Camogie titles, two All-Ireland Camogie Titles and one All-Ireland Schools Camogie Title.
