St Rynagh’s claim minor camogie crown
THE goal-den touch proved decisive as spirited St Rynagh’s captured the 2010 minor ‘A’ camogie championship crown at Birr’s expense following a nail biting delayed decider at well presented St Brendan’s Park on Saturday afternoon last.
St Rynagh’s 3-3
Birr 1-8
St Rynagh’s trailed at the interval by 0-2 to 1-2 and they had impressive goalkeeper Tara Dooley to thank for them not being further adrift.
However a hat-trick of goals in the second-half, one apiece for Helen Dolan, Niamh Clancy and Roisin Woods proved to be the vital scores.
Birr fought back in the closing stages and almost snatched a draw but they were unlucky to see a late shot for an equalising point drift just wide.
