OFFALY’S Cillian Kiely conquered the Annaverna Mountain in Louth on Saturday when he pucked his way to victory to the All Ireland Boys U-16 Poc Fada title.
The hard hitting young Kilcormac/Killoughey star took 24 pocs to complete the course one ahead of Darragh O’Callaghan from Cork. The Leinster and All Ireland Champion will get the chance to retain his titles next year, as he is once again eligible in 2012.
The Senior event was won by Tipperary goalkeeper Brendan Cummins for the fifth time.
The 36-year-old also won the Poc Fada title in 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008.
Waterford’s Patricia Jackman made it three in-a-row of Camogie Poc Fada.
