SEIR Kieran left it late before battling back from being five points in arrears to force a draw at O’Connor Park on Sunday evening last. The recently crowned Division 1 league champions met a fiercely determined Tullamore side who defied the adversity of being without a number of key players to give a courageous display and come within moments of a deserved win.
Seir Kieran 0-19
Tullamore 1-16
Missing from the Tullamore ranks were leaders in Shane Dooley, James Keane, Brendan Dagg, Shane Kelly and Francis Kerrigan, all of whom were to the fore when they were crowned county Champions in 2009.
Yet the blues-in-white gave a rousing performance with a mix of urgency and composure to earn a more than deserved draw that could easily have been their first win of the campaign.
