RHODE regained the Offaly Senior Football Championship title on Sunday with a stunning second-half display that saw off their arch rivals Clara.

Trailing by 1-5 to 0-6 at the break, Rhode dominated the second-half restricting Clara to just one further point while they added ten of their own.
With Thomas Deehan in fine form, Clara worked their way in front and were in a strong position to defeat Rhode for the third time in their last four meetings.
Deehan scored 1-4 in the first-half while his opposite number Niall McNamee accounted for all but one of Rhode’s scores. Clara had lead by as many as three midway through the half after Deehan’s goal and a subsequent point from John O’Hara.
Eoghan Byrne and Niall McNamee reduced the gap for Rhode with points but Deehan was again on the mark before the break to leave the half-time score at 1-5 to 0-6 in Clara’s favour.
The second half however was all one way traffic as Rhode took total control to win their 25th title in total and their sixth since 2004.
By the midway point of the half they had moved 0-13 to 1-5 clear thanks to points from Anton Sullivan (2), Paul McPadden (2), Niall McNamee, Mark Dunne and Ciaran Heavey and while Clara pulled one back, it would prove to be their final score as Rhode tacked on three more points to claim the win.
