All Ireland VS SF A Semi-Final

Gallen CS 2-13

Holy Trinity College, Cookstown 1-14

After taking the advantage of the strong downfield wind in the first half, Gallen made a slow start but recovered well to lead at half time by 1-9 to 0-6, the goal coming from Aaron McDonagh.

Three points for Cookstown in the first three minutes of the second half set pulses racing among the largely West Offaly crowd, but Gallen settled into the game again and a well taken score from wing back Shane Costello was crucial in stemming the tide.

Gallen kept Cookstown at bay, trading scores from the rest of the half and looked to have the match won when Darragh Keenaghan scored a goal with normal time expired. An injury time goal from Kieran McGeary brought Cookstown right back into it but Gallen held on for an historic win.
