Offaly Intermediates suffered their fourth loss in as many games in the Tesco Homegrown NFL Division 3 game against table toppers Armagh on Sunday in a wet and windy Abbey Grammar school, Newry.
Tesco Homegrown National Football League
Armagh took the lead from the second minute of the game and controlled it the whole way through the sixty minutes.
Armagh had a very comfortable lead before Offaly finally got on the scoreboard with a free from Kym Furey on the 25th minute. Orlagh Heavey added another before the referee blew the whistle for half time with Armagh leading on a 1-9 to 0-2 scoreline.
Things didn’t get much better for the faithful ladies in the second half and try as they may they could not get through the Armagh defence. Orlagh Heavey added to the Offaly score with her second point of the day from a free and that was that for the girls after a bad day at the office all round.
Final score in Newry, Armagh 3-14 Offaly 0-03. They now face Tipperary this weekend and it will be a home venue for Offaly, throw in at 2pm Venue TBC.
