From the start of this game spectators were in no doubt who were going to go through to the final.

Naomh Ciaran took an early lead and with Fiona McCormack, Sharon Mannion and Ellie McEvoy in scoring form lead by eight points to two at half time. This Naomh Ciaran side have a number of very young players led by one of Offaly’s top player’s in the county Lorraine Keena. They also have veteran Miriam Malone manning their goals and she pulled of a number of terrific saves.

Shamrock’s put in a great performance with Offaly’s former player Patrice Stapleton playing a blinder. Offaly’s Michelle Guinan also had a good game alongside another of Offaly’s former player’s Niamh Daly.

Like Naomh Ciaran, Shamrock’s had a number of upcoming talented young players and will defiantly be a team to keep an eye on in the future. But the day and the well deserved victory belonged to the Naomh Ciaran girls a wonderful performance all round. Winning on a 0-19 point to 0-05 scoreline.

They progress onto another Junior final and will be hoping to reap the benefits of their success to date but Tullamore are waiting and after winning the Junior League earlier this year will be hoping to finish out the year with the Junior championship title. The Junior final between Tullamore and Naomh Ciaran is fixed for September 14.
