North Leinster Junior Football Final

Ard Scoil Chiaran Junior Footballers won the North Leinster Junior Football Final when they beat Bush PP on a score line of 1-18 to 1-8.

Lotto

Weekly Lotto 19/1/13 -There was no winner of the weekly club Lotto jackpot. The numbers drawn were 2, 3, 15, 20. There were 2 match 3 winners, Ciara Johnston and Joe Deehan who both win €75 euro each. Next weeks draw takes place in Baggots at 10pm on Saturday night and the Jackpot is €2450. Thanks to all who support our lotto and thanks to all our ticket sellers. Our lotto can be subscribed to for an annual payment of 75 euro which enters you into all 52 draws, this is available from any committee member.

Clara GAA – The Gathering Events

Our events will be spread over the summer months as we celebrate our club, its proud history and welcoming home our members from all over the world. Each week we will be posting more details of events as we confirm dates. This week we are proud to confirm our annual golf day to be played on June 3rd with first tee-off at 9am, this is always a largely attended event and with members returning from abroad we are expecting it to be hugely popular again this year. More details in the next few weeks.

Membership

Membership is now due and can be paid to any committee member. Membership for 2013 remains same as 2012 and are as follows: Membership Rates 2013. Life Membership: €250; Adult Membership: €50; Underage: €20; Students: €40; Non Playing Member: €20; Life Member Registration: €2. We ask our members abroad to renew their membership and this can be done by contacting any committee member.

Underage teams

Our management teams are now in place for all underage teams of both hurling and football and details of all will be in next weeks notes. Indoor hurling began this week for u6 u8 u10 and u12, details of all sessions are available from Mel Doyle.

AGM

The AGM of the club was held on Sunday 20th of January in the club house. Chairman Gerry Brazil thanked all that helped in any way throughout the year; He especially thanked outgoing management team of Kevin Gavin (Manager) Selectors Kieran Egan, Des Kelly and Joe Hennessey for all their effort throughout the year. He also thanked all the lotto sellers and the outgoing committee for the past year. He also gave specially mention to Bill Healy for all the works he carries out with in the Club

The next Club meeting will take place in the club house on Friday 1st of March at 9pm, the agenda of this meeting is our under age structure. It is very important that we get a positive turn out at this meeting. The AGM concluded with votes of sympathy to all in the area that passed away in 2012,

The Club would like wish incoming Chairman of the County Board Padraig Boland every success, a past member of the Doon Club and winner as a player of a senior B title with Doon in 1990 where he lined out at wing forward, Padraig is very much respected with in the club and we know he will give his new role a 100%.

Open Meeting for all Club Coaches

An open meeting for all persons interested in coaching any team in Edenderry GAA this year will be held in Finbarr Cullen’s at 8pm on Thurs 24th Jan. Anyone who intends coaching in 2013 must attend this meeting to express their interest in getting involved.

Easter Rising 2013

Edenderry GAA and Derry Rovers Football Club will lock horns to form their own “Easter Rising” in a white collar fight night on Easter Saturday night March 30th 2013. This all-ticket affair promises to be a massive event as the two clubs battle for bragging rights. Our boxers have now been selected and they are currently seeking sponsorship for the event. Each boxer will then be required to pass a medical and will undergo a six week training regime with the local boxing club to ensure he is ready for the fight. The following is a full list of the Edenderry GAA boxers: John Mason, Colin McNamara, Jonathan Blong, Gary Blong, Sean Moriarity, Colm Byrne, Joe Murphy, Trevor Ryan, Paul Hanlon, James Coffey, Brian Quinlan, Aaron O’Connell, Peter O’Neill, Stephen Murphy, Ross Mangan, Peter Manley. Membership

Membership for 2013 is now due and can be paid to any committee member. All players, coaches and committee members are reminded that they must have their membership paid by 31st March 2013. This date is also important for everyone as it is the cut off date for members to be registered to vote at next years AGM and to nominate or be nominated for elected positions within the club. Offaly Senior Football

Hard Luck to the Offaly Senior football team who lost narrowly to Kildare on Sunday. The lads begin their National League campaing in a couple of weeks with a trip to London and we wish them every success in their bid for promotion in the league.

St Marys Secondary School

Best of luck to St Mary’s Secondary School Senior Football team as they set out to retain their Leinster and all Ireland title. Their first game is away to Portmarnock CS in Portmarnock at 2pm.

Adult Football Training

Friday Feb 1st will see the Senior & Junior Football squads return to training for the 2013 season. The first session will commence at 7.30pm in Edenderry GAA.

General Meeting

Na Fianna GAA Football Club will hold a General meeting on Monday the 28th of January at 8pm in the GAA Clubhouse, Geashill. The purpose of this meeting will be to put in place Management Teams for all age groups from U-6 to U-21. All Members, Officials and Anybody interested in helping out in any capacity should attend this meeting.

Raheen’s successful side who captured the Div 4 Football League last year will be presented with their medals in Hamilton’s, Geashill on Friday 01st Feb 2013 beginning at 9pm approx. A great night is sure to be in store so come along and join in the celebrations.

There is now a Range of Official Raheen Supporters Clothing including Replica Jersies, Hoodies, & T-Shirts available in most sizes from Kids to Adults. Orders can be placed by contacting Marina Corcoran [Phone (087) 9421814 - AFTER 4 PM ] . Orders can be paid for in instalments over 5-6 weeks and Marina Corcoran will be in the clubhouse on Friday evenings after training to take Orders and Payments. Fun Run

A 5K Fun Run in Memory of Barry Lee will be held in Geashill Village on Sunday 3rd March 2013 @ 12 Noon. Competitors may Run, Walk or Cycle the route. Entry Fee is €10 for Adults, €5 for Students and €15 for a Family with the proceeds going towards the Geashill Playground Fundraising Committee. All Support would be much appreciated.

Have you and old Raheen Team or Player Photos from anytime over the last 40 Years and in particular the last 10 Years. If so we would greatly appreciate if you would loan them to the club to get copied and put on display upstairs in the Cluubhouse. Photos may be given to John Hackett, Eddie Kaye or any Committee Member and ALL Originals will be returned once copied.

Members are asked to renew their membership as soon as possible but all membership must be paid by the end of January 2012. This year again there are 2 membership options. Option 1 includes entry in our weekly club lotto draw and Subscriptions are Playing Members €120, Students/ OAP’s & Non Playing Members €110. Option 2 is the same as previous years and Subscriptions are Playing Members €30, Students/ OAP’s €15 & Non Playing Members €20. Payments can be given to Club Treasurers Owenie Connor or Matthew O’Byrne. New members are very welcome.

Table Quiz

Shamrocks Gaa Club in conjunction with Killina Secondary School Sports Department will be holding a table quiz in the Hall in the Secondary school on February 22nd. All support would be greatly appreciated as the funds will be distributed been both organisations.

Membership for 2013 is now due and must be paid before 31st March. Fees should be paid to Club Registrar, Brian Kearney, the Chairman or the Secretary. All players must be paid in full by the end of march in line with our “no pay, no play” policy. The fees are as follows: Adult Player €50; Students €25; Non Playing Adult €20

Please support this worthy cause as this is the club’s main source of income to finance the running of the club for 2013. Many thanks to all who support our weekly fundraiser. The Club Lotto is €13,000. Tickets are available from local businesses and sellers in the community.

Training has resumed for 2013 for all hurlers including minors, juniors and seniors. All players are asked to make an effort to attend.

Best of luck to the Junior Hurling Team as they embark on the Leinster championship campaign on this Saturday in Heywood Community School. They take on Ardrahan of Galway.

125 years celebrations
This year, Tullamore Gaa will celebrate our 125th anniversary. To mark the occasion we have a number of events planned including releasing a book at the end of the year - Tullamore Gaa 125 years of memories. We are asking you for your help. We would love for you to send in a photo of yourself, members of your family young or old and any relative living or deceased that have any association with Tullamore Gaa whether as an active participant or supporter presently, in the future or in years gone by. Also if anyone has any photograph of a particular moment in Tullamore GAA please send them in. We hope that this book will be for the people of Tullamore and written by the people of Tullamore. Please attach your contact details along with all relevant information of who is in the photograph. Presentation Night
2013 marks a very special year in our clubs history and to get the party started we are celebrating the success of our Minor and Junior B footballers and launching our 125th anniversary celebrations at our Club Presentation Night on Saturday 9th February in Tullamore Court Hotel. Tickets are selling well and we will have ticket sale nights as follows - Friday 25th January 7-8pm, Tuesday 29th January 7.30-8pm and Friday 1st February 8-9pm in the committee room. Congratulations to the camogie club who launched their 40th anniversary celebrations on Friday night last.

Coach Training
Offaly Coaching & Games have adopted a new approach to coach education and are offering a coaching programme to all coaches. We encourage all mentors, helpers, club members, parents and anyone interested in helping out this coming year to do the coaching course. This course will be very beneficial to all. Anyone interested, please contact Fergal or Aoife to register for the course.
