The one team every other side wanted to avoid in the first round of the All Ireland qualifiers was Tyrone but unfortunately for Offaly, it was their name who came out of the hat with Mickey Harte’s side.

The one team every other side wanted to avoid in the first round of the All Ireland qualifiers was Tyrone but unfortunately for Offaly, it was their name who came out of the hat with Mickey Harte’s side.

Fortunately for Offaly, the game will be in O’Connor Park but Emmet McDonnell’s young side still have the unenviable task of taking on the side who lost out in the Division 1 League Final by a point.

Tyrone find themselves in the qualifiers after they lost to Donegal in the first round of the Ulster Championship while Offaly put up a brave fight against Kildare before eventually losing out by 1-12 to 0-19. Kildare lost out to Tyrone in the Division 1 League semi-final.

Offaly will be without Brian Connor, Johnny Moloney and Anton Sullivan for the game which is due to be played on June either June 29 or June 30 in O’Connor Park
