NEW Offaly manager Ollie Baker will take charge of the county in his first competitive fixture this weekend when they travel to Kinnegad to face Westmeath in the Bord Na Móna Walsh Cup.

There will be an unfamiliar look to the side as the manager will be without the services of his Coolderry contingent while other players will be lining out for their respective colleges.

Two players will return to the fold this year and could feature on Sunday.

Diarmuid Horan has returned from America and has made himself available while dual star Sean Ryan has opted for hurling this year after a number of years involved with the football panel.

Westmeath are managed by Galway native Brian Hanley. and will ply their trade in Division 2A this year. They have performed well in challenge matches leading into this game.

Elsewhere Coolderry continued their preparations for their upcoming All Ireland Club SHC clash with Gort with a challenge match against Tipperary last weekend.

Ken Hogan’s men were on the wrong end of a 2-21 to 1-18 scoreline but it was a good afternoon’s work ahead of their showdown with the Galway champions on February. 11 in Limerick
