Boylesports has shortened last year’s Champion Hurdle winner Rock On Ruby into 5/1 (from 8/1) following his win at Doncaster on Monday.
The Harry Fry-trained eight-year-old saw off the challenge of Countrywide Flame by three lengths in a race that was marred by the loss of Nicky Henderson’s Darlan.
Ireland’s largest independent bookmaker now make 2011 Champion Hurdle winner Hurricane Fly the 7/4 favourite to regain his crown.
Leon Blanche, Head of Communications at Boylesports, commented: “Hurricane Fly has seen a lot of support since winning the Irish Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown and looks to be at his best.”
He added, “Last year’s winner Rock On Ruby cannot be ruled out either following his win at Doncaster whilst 2010 winner Binocular may attract some each way value.”
