A late point from substitute Killian Leonard helped Kilcormac/Killoughey edge past Birr in a nip and tuck Offaly Senior Hurling semi-final at O’Connor Park on Sunday.

Birr 0-13 . Danny Owens’ side lead by 1-7 to 0-4 at the interval with the goal coming from Conor Mahon in the 20th minute. Birr clawed their way back and they thought they had levelled matters midway through the half but Sean Ryan’s goal was disallowed.
As the clock ticked down Rory Hanniffy pointed to eventually restore parity between the sides but K/K had the last say with Leonard’s point securing them a place in the final.
