The double is still on for St Mary’s Edenderry as they shattered the Leinster title ambitions of Portlaoise CBS in the Colleges junior football ‘B’ semi final at McCann Park in Portarlington on Friday with a comprehensive victory that confirmed their firm favourite’s status.

Less than a month since their historic triumph in the All Ireland Colleges Senior A Final in Croke Park, St Mary’s were right back down to business when called upon last Friday.

With a number of All Ireland winning senior players in their ranks Edenderry were just too strong in most departments and that experience of playing in and winning in the premier grade was certainly a huge boost to them but Portlaoise to their credit battled to the very end and got few breaks along the way.
