Tullamore in trouble as Edenderry press on

FOR 55 minutes this game offered little to the spectators in O’Connor Park but it made up for it in a thrilling last five minutes which produced two goals, a point and one glorious missed opportunity which ultimately cost Tullamore the game.

Edenderry 1-9

Tullamore 1-8

Dean Cummins scored the first of the goals to put Edenderry in front but another substitute Alan Martin equalised for Tullamore as the game ticked into injury time. Ciaran Hurley pointed a free to sneak Edenderry back in front but Tullamore had one last chance when the ball fell to Ronan Monaghan with only the ‘keeper to beat but his shot went off the side of his boot and harmlessly wide. That proved to be the last kick of the game as a young Edenderry side held on for the win.
