Four teams remain with 100% records in the Molloy Environmental Systems Offaly Senior Hurling Championship after the second round of games last weekend.
Defending champions Kilcormac/Killoughey sit atop Group 1 after they hit four goals in the second-half against neighbours Drumcullen to come through by 5-14 to 0-12.
They are joined at the top of the group by Tullamore who followed up their opening round win with a 3-15 to 2-10 win over Brosna Gaels.
Birr meanwhile recorded their first win with a 3-13 to 1-11 win over Shinrone. First half goals from Michael Verney and Michael Dwane helped them to a 2-8 to 0-7 lead at the break. Another goal from Verney extended the lead to 3-11 to 0-9 but Seir Kieran came back with a late charge with Joe Bergin finding the back of the net. However Birr managed to hold on comfortably for the eight point win.
The two sides are currently third and fourth in the table with two points apiece while Drumcullen and Brosna Gaels have yet to get off the mark.
In Group 2 Coolderry lead the way after a 2-19 to 0-14 win over Shinrone. That brings their score difference to +21 after two games as the 2012 All Ireland Club Finalists look to regain their title.
St Rynagh’s also have a 100% record but they were made to fight all the way by neighbours Lusmagh before eventually coming through by 1-15 to 0-15.
Belmont and Kinnitty played out a thriller in Banagher on Sunday morning with goals proving the difference in the end. Both sides scored 16 times but Belmont got the all important goals winning 4-12 to 2-14. They are now third and fourth in the table respectively on two points with Shinrone and Lusmagh yet to get off the mark.
The next round of games takes place on July 26, 27 and 28.
