Gallen Community School easily retained their Leinster Vocational Schools title at Ratheniska last Friday when a devastating second half performance was enough to ensure comfortable progression against Coláiste Bhríde of Carnew in Wicklow.

Gallen CS 2-16

Coláiste Bhríde Carnew 1-4

A one sided game looked to be on the cards in the early stages when Gallen opened with three points in the first two minutes and even though Carnew responded with a well finished score from wing back Michael Rock, it didn’t really break the flow of Gallen dominance.

Eoghan Lowry and Joe Maher were controlling the Gallen attack from the two central positions and they led the scoring charge throughout this game, contributing 2-11 between them, while Lowry narrowly failed on two occasions in the first half when going for goals that could have ended the match before it even began.
