The Leinster Under 14 Football Féile was hosted by clubs in Laois and Offaly last weekend with a number of home clubs emerging victorious in the boy’s and girls competitions led by Ferbane who won both boy’s and girl’s Division One titles.

A total of 78 teams took part in the competitions at 11 venues throughout Laois and Offaly. The Division 1 boys competition at the Portlaoise club grounds was an exciting competition involving Portlaoise, Ballylinan / Glenmore, Ferbane, Ballyfin / Mountmellick and St Vincent’s with visiting teams from Summerhill (Meath), St Mary’s (Louth) and Tinryland (Carlow).

The final was played in O’Moore Park and the Ferbane team took the initiative early on to run out comprehensive winners over Summerhill. The presentation to the winning captain was made by JJ Walsh, PRO Leinster Council who congratulated the Féile Committee on the organisation of the competitions as well as thanking the teams, referees and the host clubs for their hard work in making the event such a great success.
