THOSE responsible for making Offaly women feel beautiful are to be given the chance to participate in a global event.
THE OMC European Championships in Hair and Beauty will be hosted by the Irish Hairdressers Federation in the RDS, Dublin May 29 and 30 attracting more than 400 of the world’s most creative and innovative competitors in hair, make-up and nails and giving Irish hair stylists, make-up artists and nail technicians the opportunity to compete and display their creativity and talent to a global audience.
The Irish Hairdressers Federation will host their annual National Hairdressing Championship 2011 alongside the two-day extravaganza which expects more than 5,000 hair and beauty aficionados from Ireland and abroad to attend providing a significant boost of €1.5 million to the economy. It is the first time for the world’s largest hairdressing and beauty organisation, the OMC (Organisation Mondial Coiffure) to bring the OMC Cup to Ireland and provides a major opportunity for the talented individuals in every town in Ireland to participate and showcase their skills.
More than 40 countries will send teams to compete for the coveted title of OMC medal winner and Irish hair stylists, beauticians and nail technicians wishing to compete for Ireland on the senior team have until Friday April 1 to enter. From fantasy styles and haute couture looks to day and evening cuts and bridal hairstyles, make-up and nail art, more than 400 of the World’s most talented and imaginative players in the hair and beauty industry will sculpt and style their models into stunning works of art, completing the looks with dramatic beauty trends and colourful fashion styles. Participating countries include Italy, Ireland, Austria, the USA, France, Norway, Greece, Denmark, Montenegro and Germany who will compete for the coveted titles.
Alongside the event, the Hair and Beauty Expo 2011 will take place offering trade visitors the unique opportunity to engage with hair and beauty professionals, view the latest trends and products in make-up, tanning, eyelashes, nails and hair extensions and discover market opportunities. The IHF will also host the annual National Hairdressing Championship 2011.
