DECLAN Manley of Manley Nurseries Monasteroris intrigued his enthusiastic group of walkers at The Glade in Rahin with a very interesting guided walk on the Easter Bank Holiday Monday.

The walk was organised along with a series of other events to launch the beautiful venue in Rahin just minutes from Edenderry.

Nida and Gerry Collins bought the former Church of Ireland church in 2007 with the intention of turning it into a boutique style venue for running a series of events to include workshops seminars, small weddings, musical evenings and old style country fetes among other things.

The Bank holiday was a huge success but the guided walk proved very popular with people coming from Tullamore, Kinnegad, Rathangan, and even Cork!

The walk was very well supported by members of the Tullamore Dochas group who thoroughly enjoyed Declan’s talk. Afternoon Tea was served after the walk outdoors at the Glade where visitors enjoyed crepes and cupcakes. Children were entertained in the craft tent and the visitors also got to see and purchase local crafts by stained glass artist Deirdre Cairns, wood turning by Jackie Tallon Nolan and Art by Jenny Mc Nally.

Due to popular demand Declan will be doing other guided walks throughout the summer with a Butterfly walk scheduled for May.
