PERFORMANCE Art will be taken to a new level in the Bridge Centre, Tullamore this weekend with a combination of fashion and fantasy and all in aid of the Tullamore Community Arts Centre. The event, which is being co-ordinated by Bernie Chalke Photography, will involve fashions, footwear, fabric and funky, futuristic make up.
Bernie, who specialises in Fantasy Photography and Make Overs is joining forces with vintage fashion expert Gladys Adams, Ann Larkin Fabrics and a number of retailers from the Bridge Centre including Sweater World, Paul Byron Footwear, Dolan’s Pharmacy, Dolan’s Digital and Guy Clothing (also celebrating their first anniversary on Saturday) to produce a spectacle with a difference.
A display of over 30 of Bernie’s photographs will also take place in the Bridge Centre on Saturday showcasing her unique work, much of which is done in conjunction with her neighbour Kate Heffernan who does the dramatic hair and make up.
In recent weeks and for the forseeable future Saturday will become a celebration of the arts in the town as part of a campaign to highlight talent in the area and to promote the Tullamore Community Arts Centre fund raising draw. Last weekend young craftsman Conor Lynch (15) from Killeigh displayed the fine art of wood turning, displaying an impressive collection of items he has made himself.
Other events in the coming weeks will include art exhibitions, musical recitals, dance performances and drama.
