THIS weekend take a break from cooking duties and head along to the Tullamore Court Hotel for the tantalising Taste of Offaly exhibition where your taste buds will be tickled and tempted with a veritable feast of goodies from local food producers and purveyors of fine food.
So whether you prefer savoury or sweet there will be something for every taste at the exhibiton which is organised by Midlands 103 in conjunction with Offaly Local Development Company and Calor Gas.
Local chefs Jim Tynan from the Country Kitchen in Portlaoise and Tullamore’s own Yvonne Carty of Hey Pesto catering will both be offering mouth-weatering treats in a series of cookery demonstrations during the afternoon.
With a nominal charge of just €3 this is guaranteed to be a wonderful afternoon for all the family with lots of stands where you can sample the goodies on offer, the cookery demonstrations as well as displays of crafts and candles.
On offer (and display) during the exhibition will be chocolate spreads, gourmet jams, cakes, breads, cheese, organic fruits, cured meats, wine, ethnic cuisine along with special offers from numerous exhibitors. That’s A Taste of Offaly, this Sunday February 20 at the Tullamore Court Hotel from 2pm.
