The all-new FIAT 500L Trekking is now on sale in Ireland with prices starting at a highly competitive €24,000.

Combining the fun and practicality of the FIAT 500L with distinctive and rugged looks, the Trekking version offers customers the look, feel and additional all-weather practicality of a roomy SUV without any of the weight or efficiency drawbacks.

Instead of a hefty all-wheel drive system that is rarely put to use, the front-wheel drive FIAT 500L Trekking instead employs FIAT’s sophisticated Traction+ system, which uses the vehicle’s ESC hardware to continuously monitor the vehicle’s dynamics in slippery conditions and direct engine torque to whichever wheel has the most grip. The advance traction system is activated by a dashboard switch and operates at speeds of up to 30km/h, and does not impact the vehicle’s efficiency or running costs when not in use. In addition to Traction+, the FIAT 500L Trekking is equipped with Mud & Snow tyres and a specific suspension configuration with 13mm of additional ground clearance to maximise its all-weather capabilities.

Helping set the FIAT 500L Trekking apart from its siblings are chunky front and rear bumpers with skid plates and additional mouldings; wheel-arch and rocker-panel mouldings; rear privacy glass and unique Diamond-Black 17-inch alloy wheels. The 500L Trekking is also the first FIAT model to feature City Brake Control as standard, an active safety system which recognises other vehicles and obstacles in front of the car and automatically applies the brakes in order to avoid or mitigate a collision should the driver not take any action.

The FIAT 500L Trekking offers two, unique, two-tone interior choices (black/white or grey/brown) which echo the earthy feel of the exterior styling cues, while standard equipment includes a 5-inch touch-screen Uconnect infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity and music streaming capabilities; ESC stability control; cruise control; a leather-trimmed steering wheel and gear knob; air conditioning; rear parking sensors, electric windows front and rear; automatic headlamps, rain sensors; floor mats and an electro-chromatic rear-view mirror.

The new FIAT 500L Trekking engine range consists of three powerplants: The 105hp 0.9 TwinAir petrol; the 85hp 1.3 MultiJet (also available with the Dualogic automated manual transmission) and the 105hp 1.6-litre MultiJet. A total of 17 different exterior colour choices are available, including contrasting roof and mirror colour combinations and a unique Hip Hop yellow colour option. Four alloy wheel options are also offered, two 17-inch wheels designs and two 16-inch wheel designs for users of winter-chains.

As with all new FIAT models, a five year warranty is standard on the FIAT 500L Trekking, not only underscoring FIAT’s confidence in the quality and reliability of all its products but also helping improve resale value and lower running costs for customers.
