ORGANISERS of the Teen Aware concert at Charleville Castle on Good Friday are planning a unique world record attempt at the event.

They hope to break the world record for the most people handcuffed together at one time. Currently, it is understood, that the record stands at 562. The organisers are in touch with the Guinness book of records to discuss the possibility of challenging the record on April 22.

Teen Aware is a non-alcohol event on Good Friday to highlight suicide awareness issues among teenagers. A number of top local bands will perform on the main stage with a battle of the bands also taking place. Suicide awareness groups and organisations will also be present.

The event is the idea of transition year students at The Sacred Heart school in Tullamore. Tickets are only available to senior level students in secondary schools across the midlands. Tickets cost €10 and can only be bought with parental consent through the school.

Information packs are currently being distributed to schools across the midlands.
