THE new Tullamore Dew Heritage Centre is expected to open its doors in September, according to Shane Hoyne, the Global Brand Director for Tullamore DEW.

Work on the multi million euro project, undertaken by William Grant & Sons, is ongoing at the Bury Quay site and will see an expected 40,000 visitors through the doors when it opens in Tullamore later this year.

Speaking at the launch of Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey’s new packaging in Dublin last week, Mr Hoyne explained that the work on the visitor centre was continuing but not, of course, without experiencing some of the problems associated with a 200 year old building.

Last week’s event was organised to mark another chapter in the Tullamore DEW story with the unveiling of a new bottle for the world renowned product that captures the whiskey’s spirit.

Elsewhere, work continues on plans to construct a new distillery at Clonminch, Tullamore and it’s hoped to have the new project, subject to planning conditions, in 2014.
