Tullamore DEW features in inaugural Whiskey Week

Ireland’s inaugural Whiskey Week, a celebration of one of Ireland’s most celebrated and successful products, has been launched by representatives of three of the country’s leading distilleries – Irish Distillers, Grants and Cooley Distillery.

Running from May 21 to May 26, Whiskey Week will feature bespoke events celebrating uisce beatha at the country’s leading distilleries as well as whiskey pubs and hotels around the country. Activity will include whiskey showcase events, tastings, food pairings, promotions and much more.

Specially commissioned tours of the Kilbeggan Distillery, the world’s oldest licensed whiskey distillery, which will run daily throughout the week to provide an insight into the people and processes behind the 250 year old brand.

Also a Tullamore DEW sampling will be held in Brooks Hotel in Dublin.

John Quinn Global Brand Ambassador, Tullamore DEW stated, “Whiskey Week is a big event for all of us connected to the world of Irish Whiskey. This is a very good time for the Irish Whiskey category with a growth rate faster than any other spirit category and far faster than any other whiskey category.

“For Tullamore DEW the buoyant sales figures, the launch of our new bottle, the opening of our renovated visitor’s centre later this year and of course the recent announcement of our intention to build the Tullamore DEW distillery in Tullamore are some examples of how exciting this business is – not just for us but for Ireland. Whiskey Week and the Whisky Live Dublin event are appropriate events to showcase this great industry and its wonderful brands.”
