THERE was the usual high level of competition at the Offaly Ploughing Championships last weekend with competitors from around Offaly and further afield taking part.

This was the 42nd running of the ploughing match and it took place in Screggan last Saturday.

There was a total of 12 categories a number of which were decided by the narrowest of margins.
