Bringing new business to Daingean

A NEW venture, the Daingean Enterprise Network, will concentrate on bringing people together and hopes to establish new businesses in the town.

As part of the ongoing efforts to improve the town, Adrian McLoughlin is currently involved with the new project to encourage people to come forward with ideas for the town or to consider opening a business in the town.

The project aims to build on the recent work being undertaken by the Daingean Development Association, which saw the town repainted over the course of a weekend. A huge thanks was extended to everyone for their efforts and the clean up weekend will feature on this week’s airing of RTE’s ‘Dirty Old Town’ programme tomorrow (Wednesday, April 4).

The network’s first project was to find buildings in the town that were not being used and of these, they found three that can be reopened and used. The project is also looking at ways to utilise the canal as it is one of the main attractions in the town and would be a huge boost to the area for tourism.

Meanwhile, people can contact Adrian on 086 1078399 if they have any ideas or are interested in opening a business in the town and for further details on this project and many other projects, people can also check out the Daingean Development Facebook page.
