Cloughjordan-based building and civil works contractor, Michael Ryan Plant Hire, is taking a positive outlook on prospects for the economy in the Mid-West as evidenced by their purchase of a major new piece of plant and equipment.

Within recent weeks, the company has taken delivery of a new Komatsu PC138US-10 excavator, an addition to their fleet and replacement for a unit that had been in operation for the past 12 years.

Founded 14 years ago, Michael Ryan Plant Hire carries out groundwork, site preparation, drainage and general contracting on council, agricultural and private sector projects within a 100 miles radius of its base in Cloughjordan.

Notable projects on which their services were employed include construction of the Eco Village in Cloughjordan, a Met Éireann station in Athenry and ground work for a bacon factory in Callan.
