FRS Training was invited to An Grianán (ICA HQ) to put the three Charity ICA Bootcamp finalists - Peter Clohessy (former Munster and Ireland prop forward), Jessica Kurten (International Showjumper) and Dave Young (Entertainer & Comedian) through their paces while training the celebrities how to safely manoeuvre a tractor through an obstacle course task on grand final night.
Although Peter was crowned Charity ICA Bootcamp Recruit of the Year 2011 it was Jessica’s precision handing of the tractor that put pressure on Dave, who’s over enthusiasm led to the demolition of several parts of the course including a table and chairs that were set to serve tea after the event!
The finalist recruits wore their FRS high-vis vests with honour as they drove the tractor around the obstacles, such as a cardboard cut-out of mentor Marie McGuirk, which Dave, despite his safety training, could not safely avoid. Peter and Jessica proved to be better students and demonstrated FRS Training safety during the task.
Jim Dockery, National Training Manager for FRS Training Ltd said, “I thoroughly enjoyed training the recruits. I put the recruits through a specific training course on tractor safety, using a loader and reversing skills, which were conducted in a controlled and light hearted manner. The normal FRS tractor training course provides a broader training coverage and the content is highly important to on and off road driving safety and in particular to safety when conducting farm duties.”
