Champagne price for Strawberry Hill as Belmont boasts two of Offaly’s most expensive houses

Strawberry Hill House in Belmont is on sale through Sherry FitzGerald Lewis Hamill in Tullamore. The five bed-roomed property, which also boasts four bathrooms, is on sale for €950,000. It is steeped in history as n times of trouble it is reputed that the monks of Clonmacnoise brought their valuables to this place to prevent them from being pillaged.

Priced at €795,000, but advertised as being at a ‘reduced price’, the second most expensive house in Offaly is on the Ross Road in Screggan outside Tullamore. On sale through Liam Moran Auctioneers, boasting seven bedrooms, the house has a total floor area of 9,800 sq/ft arranged over two floors on a two acre site of mature trees.

On the market for the same price through Tullamore auctioneers Coldwell Banker Kelly & Co and Property Team Mollin Estates is a prominent house on the Charleville Road in Tullamore. With an overall floor area of 4,273 sq/ft, the five bedroomed house is described as having ‘a focus on attention to detail and natural light with its high ceilings and windows’.

The fourth most expensive property in Offaly is again located in Belmont and is on the market for €750,000. Set on 3.5 acres, Sean Bothar House dates back to the early 1930’s and in recent years refurbished to very high and modern standards. On sale through Banagher based auctioneer Damian Lynch, it also boasts a self contained guest lodge.

Number five on the list of Offaly’s most expensive houses is just outside Portarlington and its 4,000sq/ft of accommodation includes a double garage, granny flat, large shed with three stables, stud railed pony paddocks with a sweeping cobble lock driveway. On sale through Matt Dunne & Associates, the house is priced at €700,000
