Co Offaly’s Grant Engineering, a market leader in the design, manufacture and supply of heating products, has won a prestigious national award for excellence.
The company that designs a range of oil fired condensing boilers, back boilers and renewable technology, was presented with ‘Best Member Website’ at OFTEC’s 2014 Awards for Excellence in Warwickshire, UK. The awards recognise high standards amongst the industry, ranging from installers, engineers, to trainees and manufacturers.
The award from OFTEC comes just days after founder Stephen Grant received high praise at the 2014 Plumbing & Heating Awards. Grant, who founded the company in 1978, accepted the biggest award for an individual who has achieved and contributed to the plumbing and heating industry in Ireland at a glittering ceremony in the Hilton Hotel, Belfast.
Commenting on their recent award wins, Paul Wakefield from Grant Engineering said “I’m delighted that Grant has been recognised on a national level in the OFTEC Awards as well as recently in Ireland’s Plumbing & Heating awards. We pride ourselves on our product development and innovation and carry this ethos through from products we manufacture to our website detail. It is an honour for us to be chosen for one of only nine awards presented by OFTEC on the day and I’m particularly pleased given the level of competition!”
The awards are run by OFTEC, which represents the oil heating and cooking industry and took place as part of its new look ‘Big Event’ which included a trade show, seminar programme and member mini conference. Over 170 guests attended the OFTEC Awards for Excellence ceremony held at Nailcote Hotel and Leisure Club near Coventry.
Speaking at The Big Event, OFTEC Director General Jeremy Hawksley said: “This year’s Awards for Excellence proved bigger and better than ever before and the standard of entries reflects the abundance of talent we have in the industry. I would like to congratulate all our winners and the excellent contribution they have made to the oil heating market.”
Other Irish winners at the event, included METAC, County Laois for Best Training Centre and Dunraven Systems, Dundalk, for the Innovative Product of the Year Award.
