Offaly retailers tops for hygiene

TWO Offaly Stores; Scally’s Centra, Tullamore and Mangan’s Centra, Edenderry, were presented with the Supreme National Hygiene Award by Martin Kelleher, Managing Director, Centra and Irene Collins, Managing Director, Excellence Ireland at the 2011 Centra Quality Awards presentations held in Killarney.

TWO Offaly Stores; Scally’s Centra, Tullamore and Mangan’s Centra, Edenderry, were presented with the Supreme National Hygiene Award by Martin Kelleher, Managing Director, Centra and Irene Collins, Managing Director, Excellence Ireland at the 2011 Centra Quality Awards presentations held in Killarney.

The Supreme Hygiene Award identifies and rewards retailers that have performed to a consistently high level over a three year period. Year-on-year these entrepreneurial food retailers continue to push out the boundaries of excellence with a total of 50 Centra stores receiving the Supreme Hygiene Award in 2011.

In addition a further five Offaly stores; Loughnane’s Centra, Birr, Quinns Centra Main Street, O’Callaghan’s Centra, Ferbane, Scally’s Centra, Shinrone and Leavy’s Centra Tullamore were also presented the Excellence Ireland National Hygiene and Food Safety certificate, which is independent verification of the highest standards of operational hygiene and food safety in the food sector business.

A total of 344 Centra Stores in the Republic of Ireland have achieved the National Hygiene and Food Safety certificate, demonstrating, the company says, the huge importance attached to rigorous quality and food safety measures.
