If you want to set up your own business, you should consider doing their Starting your Own Business course. The course brings the participants through all stages of preparing for a business start-up - from planning and conducting basic market research right through to creating a business plan. Demand for this course is always very strong so if you are interested you should contact Offaly County Enterprise Board as soon as possible.

Courses are being held in Tullamore, Birr and Rhode during the evenings, and there is also a 3 day programme in Tullamore starting on 26 August next.

Among the other programmes available are Small Business Accounts, Using Facebook for Business and Costing & Pricing. The courses are free to anyone in receipt of a Social Welfare payment such as Job Seekers Benefit or Allowance, so a great opportunity to prepare yourself for setting up and running your own business.

For anyone who would like to know more about “procurement” or the supply of goods to local authorities, you should consider attending one of the free information evenings being held over the coming weeks. Offaly County Enterprise Board in association with Offaly County Council are running these to provide advice on the opportunities for businesses to supply goods and services to Offaly County Council and other government bodies.
