LIR Investors, the Midlands Business Angels Network, is aiming to facilitate €1 million worth of investment in the Midland region.
This angel network has brought together a group of investors whose focus is to encourage entrepreneurs to establish, expand or diversify strong growth potential businesses and to offer support for investor ready businesses seeking to grow in the midlands. The network will match suitable investors with entrepreneurs with the objective of expanding high potential growth businesses.
In association with the Midlands Regional Authority and the Midlands Gateway Chamber, Lir Investors will host an open evening on Monday next, October 3 at 7pm in the Mullingar Park Hotel.
John Teeling, founder of the Cooley Distillery whose Kilbeggan 15 year old whiskey was selected best whiskey in the world in 2009, will chair the meeting. Speakers include Gerry Duffy, UK Deca–Enduroman Champion 2011 who has raised over €500,000 for autism and Diane Roberts, national director of the Halo Business Angels Network.
The first fifty people to register on the night will receive a copy of Gerry’s bestselling book ‘Who Dares, Runs’.
Lir Investors Network was founded by Mullingar businessman Martin Nally, former managing director of the Westmeath Examiner Group and who is currently managing director of handyweb.ie and farmersforum.ie
Martin said, “Lir Investors was created to play a role in getting the Midlands out of the recession. We are particularly interested in any businesses that are suitable for the export industry and are currently on track to bring together more that €1 million in funding for entrepreneurs. We have ten investors who have committed to the network and are inviting any other interested parties to attend our launch.”
