Now in its second year it is bigger and better with the inclusion of more awards attracting entrants from the four counties of the midlands, Offaly, Longford, Westmeath and Laois.

Ray Byrne, President of the Midlands Gateway Chamber said “I’d like to wish all the finalists the very best of luck in the competition. The MidlandsIreland.ie Best in Business awards will be a highly prestigious award to win because it encompasses businesses from the entire Midland Region, is highly competitive and will set the standard for years to come”.

The Emerging New Business Award is kindly sponsored by AIB and the finalists in this category are Applied Concepts, Slipstream EDI and the Marketing Department.

The Best Multi-National Award is kindly sponsoredby the IDA and the finalists in this category are Covidien and Abbott.

The Business Person of the Year Award is kindly sponsored by CPL and the finalists in this category are Berty Dunne, AnneBrook House Hotel, Regina Bushell, Grovelands Childcare and Ronan O’Brien, Zatori.

The Outstanding Business Award finalists are Cuisine Royale, Glenisk and MOHH.

The Green Initiative Award finalists are CJ Sheeran, Lough Bishop House and Polar Ice Tech.

The Best Cultural Tourism Award finalists are CORE crafted design, Lough Bishop House and the Tullamore Show.

Lastly the finalists in the Retail Excellence Award are Red Earth, Clelands and Galvin for Men.

The event is taking place on Thursday June 21 in the Hodson Bay Hotel, Athlone, County Westmeath. Tickets are priced at €30 per person and right now there is a special offer, a table of eight for only €200.
