Offaly ‘Mumpreneur’ secures investment from Dragon

BRENDA Farnhill (formerly Minnock, from Rahan) and Liz Rhodes, Biritish-based Mumpreneurs, secured the help of an Irish Dragon to expand their über-chic baby range, Ruby & GINGER, in the UK and Ireland.

Having established themselves in the UK and built up a celebrity following that includes Dannii Minogue, Zoe Ball and Tess Daly among others Ruby & GINGER won investment from Norah Casey (on Sunday’s Dragons Den show on RTE One) and a new alliance with her range of women’s magazines.

Ruby & GINGER, co-founded in 2009 by friends and new mums Liz and Brenda, has a contemporary and stylish product range of simple, affordable and innovative baby accessories from the ingenious Nappy Purse to the uniquely designed Cosy Car Seat Cover. The accessories are already available in over 90 retail outlets and online sites in the UK.

From next week Ruby & GINGER accessories will be available in a range of Irish outlets including House of Fraser, Bella Baby, Oranmore and Dundrum, Magical Moments, Gort, Co Galway and The Gift Store, Limerick Milk Market.

After a tough pitch to the Dragons, Brenda and Liz secured €50,000 investment from working mum Norah Casey for 35% of Ruby & GINGER

Ruby & GINGER will be making their Irish debut at the Woman’s Way Live show this wekend (March 30 & April 1) at the RDS Simmonscourt.
