The second programme of top chef Neven Maguire’s third TV series of ‘Home Chef’, being broadcast at 8.30pm on Thursday, January 19, will feature award-winning and successful Offaly based family business, Glenisk.

One of RTÉ’s highest watched food programmes, Neven’s previous series attracted 315,000 viewers per show.

Based in Killeigh, Glenisk is Ireland’s largest consumer of organic milk, used to make a wide variety of organic dairy products. A relative newcomer, this award-winning company has established itself as a respected brand in a very competitive field. Neven meets Ger Cleary, Director of Glenisk, who gives him a tour of the factory.

‘Home Chef’ series three, will see Neven visiting the people and companies behind some of Ireland’s most popular food brands including Glenisk.

Neven will use this famous Irish produce in a selection of his delicious recipes, filmed both in his home and on location. Many of these dishes have been inspired by the menus of Neven’s multiple award-winning, MacNean House and Restaurant in Blacklion, Co Cavan.

“There is one thought that continually struck me when I travelled around Ireland to film this new series – there has never been a better time to be a chef in Ireland,” said Maguire.

“As well as supporting local producers, the starting point for any good meal is great ingredients and the quality of our produce and pride in our food traditions is second to none. As people become more aware of what they are eating and where it is from, we are so lucky that we have the best fish, meat, game and grain and our dairy produce is among the world’s finest.

“This has been a great series to highlight the extraordinary work of Ireland’s food businesses, many passing through generations, and all focussed on providing the best Irish produce,” he added.

Neven has also released his new cookbook ‘Neven’s Country Living’ volume two, in association with the Irish Farmers Journal.

This book features a selection of Neven’s most popular recipes from simple starters, family lunches, hearty dinners to delectable desserts.

‘Home Chef’ is broadcast on Thursdays, RTÉ 1 at 8.30 pm
