Local Offaly business people celebrated the generation of €4 million worth of business in just over four years.

The Uibh Fhaili chapter of BNI work together by promoting each other through word of mouth referrals which has been found to be the most successful formula to gain new business.

The Uibh Fhaili BNI chapter, who meet in The Central Hotel each Thursday morning, consists of over 20 local businesses including an architect, builder and firms in IT services and Insurance. These businesses are responsible for creating employment for more than 100 people locally and with the help of BNI will continue to build their businesses and create further employment for the area.

BNI is a professional business organisation established 28 years ago globally. All BNI members act as a sales force for each other by passing new business and giving referrals. Being a member of BNI is similar to having dozens of sales people working as part of your team, whose role is to refer contacts and business within the group, this form of networking has been proven to yield a better quality referral and generate more business.

Speaking of the group’s achievement Peter Lyons, (Chapter Director) said, “We are thrilled to reach such a milestone which is an incredible achievement not just for our own businesses but also for the local area as it will hopefully encourage future growth and employment in the months and years to come. Each member of the Chapter is growing their business and with the continued support of BNI we can continue to do so which can in turn benefit the local Offaly economy. This landmark of €4 million is proof that it is possible to grow in the face of a recession with the support of professionals and structured BNI training.”

Also speaking of the success of The Uibh Fhaili Chapter, Sandra Hart, Executive Director of BNI, Ireland South and West said, “The success of the Uibh Fhaili Chapter is proof that businesses can continue to thrive in the current economy. All too often we are presented with hard luck business stories but achievements such as this by the Uibh Fhaili Chapter is testament that there are still positive things happening out there. Offaly business people are serious about progressing their businesses and the Uibh Fhaili Chapter is always happy to welcome new faces to the Chapter.
