Farmers have been advised to book an early appointment with their Teagasc Advisor for Single Payment Applications. With the Scheme due to close mid-May there are only six weeks left to complete the 2012 application for Area Aid.
In urging famers to book and early appointment with their Teagasc Adviser, Regional Manager Larry O’Loughlin commented, “As we know from previous years the closing date will not be extended.
“It is very important therefore that farmers book their office consultation with their advisor in good time in order to avoid a bottle neck towards the end of the application period.
“It is essential that farmers come prepared for the meeting with all relevant maps and documentation”.
Mr O’ Loughlin also said that the new Beef Technology Adaption Programme will commence in April with the first round of Beef Discussion Group meetings taking place over the region.
Teagasc advisors will be conducting up to fourteen meetings during April along with a similar number in May, thus reducing the time available for Single Payment work.
“It is essential therefore that farmers book an appointment for Single Payment in good time to ensure all clients are facilitated with their Single Payment Applications before the closing date,” concluded Mr O’Loughlin.
