Buckley’s SuperValu, Birr was presented with the Supreme National Hygiene Award by Martin Kelleher, Managing Director SuperValu and Irene Collins, Managing Director, Excellence Ireland at the 2011 SuperValu Quality Awards ceremony held in Killarney.

The Supreme Hygiene Award identifies and rewards retailers that have performed to a consistently high level over a three year period. Year-on-year these entrepreneurial food retailers continue to push out the boundaries of excellence with a total of 105 SuperValu stores receiving the Supreme Hygiene Award in 2011.

In Addition, Banagher store, Flynn’s SuperValu was also presented with the Excellence Ireland National Hygiene and Food Safety certificate, which is independent verification of the highest standards of operational hygiene and food safety in the food sector business.

A total of 189 SuperValu Stores in the Republic of Ireland have achieved the National Hygiene and Food Safety certificate, demonstrating SuperValu’s ongoing commitment to rigorous quality measures and the highest levels of hygiene. This combined with an excellent range, customer service and commitment to offering real value for money provides the best offering in the retail market.

Commenting at the awards ceremony, Martin Kelleher, Managing Director, SuperValu, said “SuperValu stores continue to push out the boundaries of excellence in everything they do.
