THE Tea Room at the Tullamore Dew Heritage Centre, received a glowing recommendation from one of Irelands leading food gurus Darina Allen in last weekend’s national newspaper The Irish Examiner.

In her weekly ‘Food File’ Darina singled out the The Tea Room in her ‘Hottips’ section, describing the food as ‘delicious’.

Since The Tea Room opened its kitchen in August 2009, it has established a growing reputation for authentic homecooking, both in its daytime restaurant and through its outdoor catering service.

This is not the first time The Tea Room has received high praise from the national press. Last July The Tea Room was singled out for praise in the Irish Independent “Walk of the week” where it was described as “superb cooking”.

With many tourists passing through The Tullamore Dew Heritage Centre, The Tea Room has a growing fan base outside Ireland too. In a letter to The Tea Room, one US visitor described the scones “as one of the best I tried in Ireland”!

The Tea Room is owned by husband & wife team Louise O’Brien and Jan Koutsky. It opens Monday – Saturday 9am – 5pm. An outdoor catering service is also available. Telephone 086 7373817.
