Portarlington workshops focus on opportunities for construction workers

In March 2013, The Portarlington Community Development Association, will host a series of workshops which will highlight potential employment opportunities for unemployed or underemployed construction workers as part of the Community Resilience Vision 2020.

In March 2013, The Portarlington Community Development Association, will host a series of workshops which will highlight potential employment opportunities for unemployed or underemployed construction workers as part of the Community Resilience Vision 2020.

These seminars will focus particularly on opportunities within the construction, water metering, renewable technologies and retrofitting industries and these events have been funded by County Offaly LEADER Partnership.

The workshops will be delivered by Chevron Training and Development Ltd, Ireland’s largest private training provider.

Karl Fitzpatrick, Managing Director Chevron Training, endorsed the project, stating “The PCDA has undertaken tremendous work for the Portarlington community in recent years and we are delighted to work with such a proactive organisation in highlighting the opportunities available to unemployed and underemployed construction workers in the area”.

There are limited places available at these workshops, which will take place on the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th March from 7.30pm – 10.00pm in the Portarlington Golf Club, Garryhinch and the course is provided free of charge to all applicants.
