Maintenance works on river Shannon will make a major difference

Joe Parlon Chairman of Offaly IFA while viewing maintenance work on the River Shannon said that the work that had been carried out over the winter period will make a fundamental differences to adjacent land owners and help to elevate summer flooding.

Offaly IFA have lobbied over the years to have the current work programme implemented. Joe has worked with Officials from National Parks & Wildlife and Office of Public Works in order to get the current work programme carried out.

IFA is looking to have an annual maintenance carried out on the River Shannon. Work was also carried out on the Little Brosna this year in the Lusmagh Banagher Area.
