Sun shines on Kilcavan Ploughing

The spring sunshine provided ideal conditions for the 43rd annual Ploughing Championships on the Gorry and O’Doherty lands at Kilcavan recently. Competitors from Laois, Offaly, North Tipperary, Westmeath, Longford, Kildare and Carlow turned up to show their skills.

The spring sunshine provided ideal conditions for the 43rd annual Ploughing Championships on the Gorry and O’Doherty lands at Kilcavan recently. Competitors from Laois, Offaly, North Tipperary, Westmeath, Longford, Kildare and Carlow turned up to show their skills.

Judges from South Tipperary and Offaly said the standards were very high. Prizes were presented at a special dinner organised by the Ladies committee.

Kilcavan Ploughing Committee would like to thank everyone who helped to make the event a success including the site owners and the press.

Under 21 Class - 1. Sean Treacy, Carlow; 2. Liam Murphy, North Tipperary; 3. David Dunne, Kildare.

Novice Confined - Sean dalton, Kilcavan and Culliton Novice Cup.
