Star line up for Gallen concert

STARS of the entertainment business will arrive in Club S, The Auld Shebeen, Moate on Tuesday, April 26 for a gala concert in aid of Gallen Community School, Ferbane.

STARS of the entertainment business will arrive in Club S, The Auld Shebeen, Moate on Tuesday, April 26 for a gala concert in aid of Gallen Community School, Ferbane.

The all star line up will include Ireland’s top recording star Mike Denver who will be returning from his tour of the UK to appear in Club S. Mike is currently celebrating the release of his new album – ‘Tradition’ which is based on emigration and features the track ‘Gentle on my Mind’ which Mike performed on the Late Late Show in January. To date Mike has recorded eight albums.

Ireland’s biggest show-band ‘The Conquerors’ will also be performing. On the road for nearly forty years, the Conquerors specialise in corporate functions and have the lovely Lorraine McDonald as lead vocalist and sax player.

Top country star Matt Leavy will also be making an appearance and promoting the release of his new ‘Irish’ album ‘Songs I love so Well’.

Other acts performing include Ireland’s premier wedding band ‘The LOLs’, Party Band ‘Recoil’, Derek Feery, local Country Singer Rosie Flanagan & band, Ciaran Guinan with his trad/rock band ‘Whitegrass’, new Moate based band ‘Project 37’ and Gallen Community School Student Joe Maher.

Compere for the evening will be Tom Curtin. The proceeds of the show will go to The Cluny Unit (Children with Special Needs) in Gallen Community School, Ferbane. The doors open at 7.30pm and the show will start at 8pm. Tickets cost €15 and will be on sale in The Auld Shebeen & Gallen Community School. This concert also coincides with Autism Month which commenced on April 2.
