FRIDAY, August 5 sees a gig to remember in Birr Theatre & Arts Centre – the School of Rock Gig! Following their two week intensive training, the participants in the School of Rock will present an evening which will raise the roof! Early booking is advised for this event!
Jack L makes a welcome return to Birr on Saturday, August 6 – this man needs no introduction and promises a night of superb musical entertainment. As part of Birr Vintage Week & Arts Festival two lunchtime plays are taking place.
The first of these; Melody takes place on Monday 8 and Tuesday 9. Following the success of last year’s production of Bed Among The Lentils, theatre company, Left of Centre return with a fun filled play packed with music, laughter, a cyber twist and a happy ending – get on your dancing shoes!

For those who cannot “do lunch” during the Festival Week, the One Act Plays Double Bill takes place on Tuesday, August 9. This is the ideal opportunity to enjoy both plays back to back.
The second One Act Play runs on Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11; Dinner For One tells the story of elderly Miss Sophie’s 90thbirthday party and the chaos that ensues – do not miss this!
Children’s Dance Classes are being run by Legitimate Bodies Dance Company on Thursday, August 11. Tumble Tots & Twinkle Toes for 10 months – 3 year olds; Yummy Dance for 3 – 6 year olds and Vintage First Footing for 6 – 10 year olds.
Don’t miss the Irish Chamber Ensemble on Friday, August 12 who specialise in the performance of contemporary chamber works for mixed instrumentation. The lively programme for this evening will include a new commission Star Gazing and is a magical journey through space from the perspective of planet Earth.
