THE exhibition ‘Between the Jigs and the Reels’ by Eamonn Byrne continues at Edenderry Library until Saturday next March 24.
Wexford born, Eamonn has been working as an enthusiastic amateur for more than forty years. Charcoal, pastel and acrylic are his preferred mediums. He is largely self-taught but has studied portraiture with Dublin based artist, Donal Murray in the past year.
While he has worked on landscape/seascape mostly of his native coastline, he has always returned to portraiture and figurative work. Capturing the essence of the characters he paints in as free and loose a style as possible is what brings the work along.
This is the second time Eamonn has shown his work, having his first exhibition in his native Wexford to coincide with Wexford Opera festival back in October last year.
